We are mothers.
We care, fight, worry, protect, fear, create, breastfeed, stay awake, sleep a little, cook, do laundry, curse, fold, comfort, scold, caress, hug, and hold space.
The three of us are mothers—and also daughters, sisters, and granddaughters.
We dance and inquire, embodying the maternal labor of life as a tribe in pursuit of knowledge.
The daily and emergency acts of caregiving and protection become, for us, a practice in embracing complexity.
